Relaxing Yule & Christmas

Darr Syn and I had a wonderfully relaxing Yule and Christmas, even though he had to work on Christmas Eve.  Since it was just the 2 of us, we decided to celebrate in our own way with lots and lots of food!

On Friday the 21st, we lit our Yule log, ate pizza, and drank.  Well, he drank mead and I had one glass of wine but since I'm still fighting a cold, I wasn't in the mood to drink a whole lot.  I was gifted a bottle of Chardonnay so I tried that.  Not really a fan so I decided to be classy and cut it with Sprite Zero.  LOL

We made sure we stayed up past midnight before extinguishing the Yule log candles in order to welcome the light back into the world on the longest night of the year.

On Saturday, I cooked a big turkey dinner and Darr Syn made his corn bread and sausage dressing.  We at waaaaaay too much food but it was so good!  I then made us a big breakfast on Sunday.  Sausage gravy and biscuits for him, egg and cheese biscuits for me, and hash browns for us.  Then we had leftovers for dinner.

On Monday, Christmas Eve, we had lots of appetizers and played games all evening.  I gave him some games for Yule so we tried those out.  I gave him Codename Duet (super fun!), Odin's Ravens, and I Should Have Known That.  For the latter, we had to give me a 25-point handicap in order to make it fair since he is a trivia whiz. :)

On Christmas Day, we just relaxed.  I was supposed to make a roast for dinner but we decided to eat more turkey leftovers instead.  We just relaxed and watched TV/movies all day plus talked on the phone with our families.

Even Sidia and Rustle took the day easy. :)

It's back to work as normal today thought we could both use some extra time off but at least it's already Wednesday so only a few days until the weekend!

It's Our 1-year Anniversary!

One year ago today:
Venue: Knock Music House

Centerpiece: Bearly Dreadful named Matilda made by Sashi

Best Officiant Ever! Jemelle Wooten

"Look serious, Sashi!  No, that's too happy.  Look angry instead."

The photographer thought someone signed the table runner. :)
I was too sick to go out ofr our anniversary dinner so we ordered from the Mexican restaurant that catered our taco bar for the wedding.  They included this note with our order. :)
