About Honey Whine

Snap Shots of Honey Whine is a play on words in multiple ways which, in and of itself, represents us. 

Snap - he is the master of sarcastic, snappy comebacks
Snap Shots - we post pictures of random life moments as well as write about them, providing glimpses into who were are and what we are doing.
Shots - see "Snap" above. :)  Also alcohol.
Honey - she is sweet and see the positive side of most things most of the time
Whine - he is acerbic and has caffeinated opinions
Honey Whine - he is a mead maker!  Mead is a honey wine.  Wine/Whine... get it? :)

The Artsy Pagan

Sashi is an eclectic Pagan with a gothy sense of style but sees the world as a colorful cartoon.  Sometimes a creepy cartoon, but a colorful place, nonetheless.  She has an addiction to cook books, recipes and cooking shows as well as simply "making stuff."   It's not uncommon for junk mail to become a work of art of some description before being thrown away.  Sashi is on the shy side until someone strikes up a conversation with her first and then she has found a new friend.

The Caffeinated Heathen

Darr Syn is a Heathen in the Nordic sense of the world.  He is very passionate about his interests which Sashi describes as "caffeinated" when he talks about them.  He is an intellectual who is well versed in movies, music, books, comics, and the Nordic faith.  His memory for details and quotes from books he has read and movies he has seen is impressive.  Darr Syn is very outgoing and can make friends with just about anyone.  He just doesn't like everyone. :)  He is a former sous chef and professional poker player so has a lot of fun stories from both worlds.  Want a poker buddy?  He is game!

Honey Whine

Sashi and Darr Syn met years ago and were best friends for a long time before we become more.  Want to be happy for the rest of your life?  Marry your best friend.  That's what we did in 2017!

We currently reside in the Atlanta area and have 2 cats.  We are both passionate about food so have Date Night once a week where we either go to a new-to-us restaurant or back to favorites if we are craving something particular.  We love food so much that we even call our apartment "Baconalia."

We also both love, love, love board games and card games.  And poker.  Especially poker.

Sidia (short for "Obsidian")

  

Sidia is a scary smart little girl.  She has figured out how to open ziploc baggies that are inside a medicine cabinet, take out just 1 dental pick, and then close the bag again.  She also knows that screws hold shelves to walls but can't figure out yet how to remove them. 

We're very happy that she does not have thumbs.

Rustle (yes, the verb)

  

Rustle is a handsome ball of floof that is also known as "The Trash Panda".  He's not the brightest or the most graceful but he is an awesome helper!  He helps The Mama (aka Sashi) read cookbooks and assists her with her shoes every morning. 

He may or may not be a Russian Tumblr blogger.

This Blog

This is mainly a place for Sashi and Darr Syn to journal and keep an online scrapbook of sorts of us.  It's public but not necessarily here FOR the public.  We just wanted an online place to share together.
